How To Use Other Browsers

In AOL And CompuServe

Who Should Read This Page:

Users of AOL and/or CompuServe

If you use AOL or CompuServe (CS) as your ISP, do you know that you don't have to surf the Net with just their browser? For many people, the AOL/CS browser is somewhat confining. It cuts down on the available space to actually view a web page. Unlike Netscape or Internet Explorer, you can't easily get rid of the tool bars and borders that take up space. The solution is very simple.

1) Go online with your AOL or CS browser as you always do.

2) Once you are online, minimize the AOL/CS browser. You'll still stay connected but their browser will be out of the way.

3) Open up Netscape or Internet Explorer or whatever other browser you may have on your computer and desire to use.

4) Surf away.

Just one word of caution: If you use another browser, make sure you keep the browser updated with critical updates. The updates that AOL and CompuServe sometimes download onto your computer just as you are signing off do NOT update other browsers.
